Should you renovate before selling?

Many homeowners assume they need a major remodel before putting their home on the market.

But that’s often not the case.

According to Cindy Quinn of Quinn Realty and Property Management, some improvements deliver far better returns than others.

Fresh paint. Updated flooring. Decluttering. Deep cleaning.

These relatively affordable updates can make a significant difference in how buyers perceive a home.

On the other hand, expensive custom upgrades often don’t provide the return homeowners expect.

“Fancy appliances, custom closets, luxury fixtures, and designer finishes are usually personal preferences,” Cindy says. “You may not get your money back.”

Instead of gutting a kitchen or spending thousands on trendy upgrades, focus on making the home clean, functional, and move-in ready.

Simple improvements often create the biggest impact.
